چکیده

Ventilator-associated pneumonia (VAP) is one of the common complications occurring in patients predominantly intensive care units. It a respiratory tract infection that develops who are intubated for more than 48 hours to 72 hours. commonly caused by pseudomonas aeruginosa, If occurs within first hours, it called “earlyonset” and if after termed as “late-onset”1. Even though there innumerable methods decrease its associated morbidity we wanted examine whether any changes position were effective reduction. The experimental study was conducted on 30 samples collected consecutive manner. performed Intensive unit medical college hospital period 2 months. included both male female between 18 – 55 years underwent mechanical ventilation >48 hrs. Following inclusion criteria, screened randomly divided into 3 equal groups, Group A (35-degree recumbency), B (40-degree C (45-degree recumbency). degree measured protractor which confirmed with available software. pre post (Clinical Pulmonary Infection Scores) CPIS scores noted. demographic variables similar groups. There significant reduction (p value <0.001) no major side effects. dropouts. We conclude 40-degree 45-degree recumbency significantly 35 degrees. better group it’s statistically insignificant.

Clinical Assessment of Nursing Care Regarding Prevention of Ventilator-associated Pneumonia in Neonates

Background: Ventilator-associated pneumonia (VAP) is the second common nosocomial infection in NICUs leading to some complications. Nurses are one of the main resources in health care that directly influence neonatal health care. Responsibility of most of preventive strategies related to VAP complications lies with nurses; therefore, nursing care should be assessed until the nurses show standar...

Prevention of ventilator-associated pneumonia.

Ventilator-associated pneumonia (VAP) is an important source of morbidity and mortality in critically ill patients. Many interventions are touted to prevent VAP but studies supporting these interventions are difficult to interpret owing to an exceedingly poor correlation between clinical diagnosis of VAP and the presence of an invasive pneumonia. There is consequently a risk that purported decr...

Prevention of ventilator-associated pneumonia

Ventilator-associated pneumonia is the commonest, yet mostly preventable, infection in mechanically ventilated patients. Successful control of ventilatorassociated pneumonia can save hospitalisation cost, and is possible by using a multidisciplinary clinical and administrative approach. The ventilatorassociated pneumonia rate should be expressed as the number of ventilator-associated pneumonia ...

Strategies for the Prevention of Ventilator-associated Pneumonia in the Intensive Care Units: A Review

Ventilator-Associated Pneumonia (VAP) accounts for 80%-90% of hospital-acquired pneumonia cases in Intensive Care Units (ICUs). VAP occurs 48-72 hours after intubation, and is observed in 27%-29% of patients with endotracheal tube, and its risk increases with the increase in the duration of mechanical ventilation. In this review study, papers published from 1996-2018 were used to investigate st...
